A bit about me

A bit about my work: I provide direct support, training and encouragement for committees of student led groups and assist with their organization of activities and events. I can help them plan their event, activity or campaign, help them budget and make sure that it’s safe through risk assessments and making groups aware of some of the risks they face.

A bit about why I was at the weekend: rather than being just one person with one cause I'm able to bring the ideas and challenges thrown down by the lectures to the students at Birmingham University and help shape some of the discussions within the student movement.

My thoughts on the weekend

Meeting all the other attendees was amazing it taught me the power of the individual and the power of a single story. It taught me about being relaxed, humourous and myself when it comes to campaigning.

I was inspired by the speakers. They didn't just make a presentation and run away. They wanted to talk. They wanted to be inspired. They wanted to know what motivated us.

I was inspired by the other attendees. So many really great causes. Made me want to give up everything and join them on their exciting campaigns. But I've got to do what I've got to do.

The music was great. The food was amazing. There were lots of stories told which sparked just as many ideas.

We’ve got to keep this thing rolling along.

Get in touch.
