A bit about me
I work for the Sumatran Orangutan Society, a conservation charity. There's only about 7,000 Sumatran orangutans left on this planet, and they are disappearing fast as their forests are being converted to oil palm plantations. There's palm oil in 1 in 10 products on supermarket shelves in the UK, but most people have never heard of it. Trying to change that.
It's just me and two dogs in the office, so I do everything from campaigns to fundraising to answering the phone....And I love that every day is different! Despite carbon-footprint-guilt, I try to travel somewhere new every year, to go for a wander with my camera and see what there is to see. I'm off to Indonesia for the 4th time this summer to see the orange hairy guys again. Want to come?
My thoughts on the weekend
An exercise in restoring optimism, and a catalyst for many things.....
