A bit about me

It's taken me almost ten years to stop thinking about changing things and to actually start doing something about the issues I'm passionate about. Like human rights. Like the environment. Like creating a life where work doesn't feel like work.

So I went and studied film which I loved. And somewhat tangentally, I now work for a sustainable transport charity called Sustrans. We're trying to change the way people travel. Why drive a mile down the road to drop your children at school when you can walk or cycle - you save money, get fitter in the process and you can easily do your bit towards making the planet a better place to be.

I am also a campaign co-ordinator for Amnesty International. I campaign on human rights in China, Japan, North and South Korea and support activists around the UK with their campaigns. We're working on a new campaign connected with the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Get involved.

I love what I do yet there are so many more things I want to do, places I want to go, things I want to see...

My thoughts on the weekend

I am a lover of lists so here are seven things:-

1. A truly magical, inspirational weekend from start to finish.

2. The setting, the food, the weather - spectacular.

3. Everyone from Howies who made it happen - I am forever indebted and felt privileged to have been invited. Thanks.

4. I met an amazing group of interesting, creative people, passionate about what they do. Everyone was really interested in and supportive of what other people had to say, what they were passionate about. That's a really special thing.

5. I arrived home buzzing with ideas. Felt really alive for the first time in months.

6. It's changed the way I think. Started thinking about my work, life in general in a new way. More play, more creating things for the hell of it, more talking to new people, more experiments, more fun.

7. You don't need permission from anyone to try and change things. Just do it. It doesn't matter if it doesn't work. Try again. At least you are doing something.
